Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to shape the future of flight by developing advanced composite manufacturing processes for wing applications. You will join the GTC technology team to lead cross-functional projects, manage budgets, schedules and risk, and deliver high-quality technical documentation for scalable production.

You will mentor colleagues and collaborate with internal and external partners across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technical work including budgeting, scheduling and risk management.
• Experience with composite manufacturing processes (RTM, automated layup, fibre placement).
• Experience in production or industrial R&D environments.
• Knowledge of carbon fibre materials and processing options.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shaping and delivery of project strategy with cross-functional teams.
• Plan and manage delivery, budgets, schedules and Technology Development Plans.
• Lead development activities from hands-on testing to documentation.
• Drive projects toward industrialisation and real-world application.
• Engage stakeholders and partners across internal and external networks.
