Job summary

Saab UK is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Engineer to join the Fareham-based Saab Seaeye underwater robotics unit. You will manage regulatory compliance, maintain technical files, and liaise with internal teams and external testing labs to ensure products meet CE, UL, FCC and maritime standards.

You will monitor new regulations, contribute to design reviews, and support audits and product upgrades. Occasional travel and cross-functional collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Working knowledge EN 61010 and EN 60204 LVD safety standards.
• Working knowledge of EMC standards and CE / FCC directives.
• Working knowledge of environmental testing under CE LVD safety standards.
• Understanding of mechanical principles in manufactured components/assemblies.
• Working knowledge of electronic systems / assemblies (PCBs, wiring).
• Self-starter; can prioritise workload and deliver standard work.
• Able to work independently and in a team with consistent performance.
• Personable and approachable; good with third-party providers.
• Confident to interact with all levels, including senior managers & directors.

Responsibilities

• Control and maintain product compliance to CE, UL, FCC and industry standards.
• Create and maintain technical files and declarations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on products.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external labs and notified bodies for testing.
• Analyse test results to update compliance verification and test plans.
• Report product compliance status to stakeholders and auditors.
• Produce technical compliance assessments for end-user requirements.
• Contribute to design reviews and product releases for standards accreditation.
• Participate in engineering change processes to maintain compliance.
• Support continual improvement of department processes and share best practices.
• Travel nationally and occasionally internationally to support objectives.
• Carry out duties in a professional manner; pursue personal development.
