Job summary

NHS England is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Commercial to lead key elements of the Commercial Function and work across NHS England Commercial, DDaT, Investment Areas, Regions, providers and suppliers.

The role involves mobilising governance, managing multi-project programmes, and aligning strategy with wider NHS and government directions, including any associated procurement activity and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead mobilisation of the Commercial Function, including governance forums, reporting routes and ways of working.
• Support the whole lifecycle of commercial programmes with multiple projects and workstreams—planning, resourcing, reporting on progress and managing risks, issues and dependencies.
• Develop and implement the Programme commercial strategy and align it with NHS England commercial strategy, Government Commercial Function policy, and DDaT standards.
• Assess Programme demand and review regional plans with Investment Areas and EPMO to build a consolidated investment pipeline and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Lead major procurement activity including Delivery Partner procurement, developing route to market, scope and requirements, and supporting evaluation, award and mobilisation.
• Establish supplier relationship management activity with market intelligence, price benchmarking and strategic supplier relationships to improve supply chain resilience.
