Job summary

A leading UK infrastructure contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to support the delivery of a major, long-term infrastructure programme in Kent. This is a senior commercial role with ownership of the commercial function across the project, working closely with senior operational and project leadership to drive financial performance, strategy and governance.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial management experience within infrastructure, civil engineering or major construction.
• Experience managing a commercial team.
• Strong subcontract and procurement experience.
• Excellent knowledge of commercial forecasting and reporting.
• Strong contract knowledge, ideally including NEC.
• Experience managing complex projects and significant work packages.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading the commercial team across the project.
• Developing and implementing commercial strategy.
• Managing project financial performance.
• Leading forecasting, CVRs and cost-to-complete processes.
• Managing change, compensation events and variations.
• Overseeing subcontract procurement and commercial management.
• Managing commercial risk and opportunities.
• Providing commercial advice to senior project stakeholders.
• Supporting contract administration and negotiations.
• Managing commercial disputes and resolution strategies.
• Monitoring project performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Leading commercial reviews with senior management.
• Mentoring and developing Quantity Surveyors and Assistant QSs.
• Supporting the wider business with commercial governance and best practice.
