Job summary

AWE in Reading is seeking a Senior Commercial Process & Tools Manager to lead the development, integration and governance of commercial processes and tools. The role focuses on delivering efficient, compliant systems across the commercial lifecycle and driving user adoption.

The successful candidate will own the process and tools landscape, collaborate with IS for digital enablement, and drive continuous improvement with a focus on data integrity and policy alignment. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• Must have proven professional experience in a Procurement/Commercial function.
• Experience in Procurement/Commercial process design and implementation.
• Experience developing systems requirements and/or implementing new systems or delivering systems improvement initiatives.
• Experience of master data management within large or complex organisations.
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
• Process mapping and process controls expertise.
• Analytical thinker with ability to align business priorities to commercial outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own a area of the Commercial processes, tools and technology landscape and ensure alignment with end-to-end processes.
• Drive user adoption and provide relevant training within the scope.
• Champion continuous improvement and adoption of best practice across the landscape.
• Collaborate with IS to enable the digital enablement of commercial processes and systems.
• Manage master data governance and ensure data models remain robust and scalable.

Senior Commercial Process and Tools Manager

Package: £63,270 to £85k (depending on experience)

Location: Reading, with free onsite parking.

Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day. This role is eligible for hybrid working, meaning employees typically spend three days on site in a long week and two days on site in a short week. We support flexible working where possible, including part-time and varied working hours, so please let us know if you would like us to consider an alternative working arrangement when you apply.

As theSenior Commercial Process &Tools Manager, you willbe responsible for managing process, tools and systems across an area of the commercial lifecycle through the effective utilisation of leading practice. You will oversee the development, implementation, management and continuous improvement of commercial processes, tools and their digital integration into commercial systems to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and drive user adoption and experience, whilst ensuring compliance with organisational policies and relevant regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

• Accountable for owning an area of the Commercialprocess,toolsand technology landscape.
• Accountable for ensuring all process and systems activity across the area of the Commercial lifecycle is defined and synchronised to ensure interdependencies areclear, there are no gaps, and scope of the end-to-end process and systems landscapeis joined up effectively.
• Accountable for driving Commercial user adoption and providing relevant training within the given areaof scope.
• Accountable for ensuring continuous improvement within theprocess, tools andsystems landscape ensuring allprocesses andsystemsremainfit for purposeand adopt latest best practice, referencingrelevant Government Commercial Function standards and industry best practice where relevant.
• Accountable for creating and owning Commercial tools and templates and enabling effective use across Commercial within their process area.
• Accountable for the accuracy,consistencyand governance of master data across systems, ensuring compliance with AWE standards and data management policies.
• Accountable for understanding the impact of systems and process changes on data structures,ensuring that data modelsremainrobust,scalableand aligned to business requirements.
• Accountable for working with IS to drive the digital enablement of commercial processes and ensure fit for purpose commercial systems within their given area.
• Accountable for working closely with theCommercialPolicy, Governance & Assurance teams to ensure all required changes in policy, regulation and legal requirements are updated within Commercial processesand associated systems.
