Job summary

S&B Utilities is seeking a Commercial Manager to provide commercial leadership, governance and financial management for the Sizewell C FTP and PWP projects from concept through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

The role requires extensive NEC contract experience, robust cost control, and a track record of managing large infrastructure budgets and stakeholders. Permanent, on-site role with significant responsibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' commercial management experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Significant NEC contract management experience with cost control and change management.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Law, Engineering or related.
• MRICS, MCICES, MCIOB or equivalent membership, or working towards.
• Proven ability to manage commercial teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Strong financial reporting, forecasting and risk management capability.
• Experience managing projects valued at £20m+.
• Desirable nuclear, water treatment or major UK infrastructure exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of major infrastructure projects from design through handover.
• Manage NEC contracts, compensation events, variations and contractual compliance.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts and cost plans.
• Monitor commercial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, including procurement and tender evaluations.
• Lead commercial risk and opportunity management activities.
• Support claims avoidance, dispute resolution and commercial governance.
• Produce commercial reports, cashflow forecasts and performance metrics for senior stakeholders.
