Job summary

Baker and Baker Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across multiple projects in Bolton, with regular visits to sites and suppliers. The role requires strong NEC contract knowledge, robust commercial controls and the ability to mentor the commercial team.

You will report to senior leadership, drive profitability, cash flow and contract compliance, and work with Project Managers and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
• Experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level (5+ years) or QS level with 10+ years' experience.
• Strong experience in construction, civils, engineering, M&E or project delivery.
• Extensive NEC contracts knowledge.
• Excellent commercial, contractual and financial management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the commercial team to meet business requirements.
• Provide commercial and contractual guidance across projects.
• Manage cash flow, debtors, WIP and profitability.
• Oversee contract change control, variations and scope changes.
• Produce forecasts and reports on cost, turnover and cash receipts.
• Identify and report commercial risks and opportunities.
• Maintain subcontract accounts and final accounts.
• Support Project Managers on contractual risks.
• Monitor payment applications and debt recovery.
• Ensure robust CVR process and commercial reporting.
• Maintain project margins through strong commercial management.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders.
