As a Quantity Surveyor, you will join a team of cost managers and project managers on various projects in the energy sector. Your role will support project teams with the formation of contract procurement documentation and the administration of contracts during the execution phase to ensure the safe, successful delivery of our clients' programmes, projects, and business objectives.
The Quantity Surveyor provides professional commercial support to the client's programme/project teams through efficient identification, procurement, and administration of contracts, managing costs and risks, and forecasting to support project execution plans.
You should have excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships within project teams and the wider client organization.
· Work independently within established financial systems to monitor and review project costs and variances on small commercial, regeneration, or residential projects, to control cost variables.
· Manage medium to large-scale cost projects or significant components of cost management assignments, ensuring delivery within deadlines.
· Understand and adhere to business risk management principles and communicate concerns to senior managers to prevent adverse impacts.
· Provide advice on risk management principles to colleagues, ensuring compliance with organizational risk and compliance processes.
· Analyze data to identify trends and prepare documentation such as delivery plans, supporting decision-making in cost and commercial management.
· Review and analyze existing cost and management processes, sharing knowledge and contributing to service improvements and innovation.
· Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs, resolve issues, and ensure high-quality client care.
· Provide technical advice and guidance within the area of expertise, supporting colleagues with cost management queries and sharing knowledge to enhance service quality.
· Collaborate with external stakeholders to understand their needs, resolve issues, and contribute to client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Relevant professional qualification or chartered status with a recognized institution (e.g., RICS, CIPS, ICE, CIOB).
· Experience with the NEC suite of contracts.
· Experience in delivering analysis and insights.
· Strong self-management and prioritization skills with the ability to work under pressure.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including stakeholder influence.
· Capable of managing projects from inception to completion.
