As a Quantity Surveyor, you will join a team of cost managers and project managers on various projects in the energy sector. Your role will support project teams with contract procurement documentation and the administration of contracts during execution to ensure the safe, successful delivery of our clients' programs, projects, and business objectives.
The Quantity Surveyor provides professional commercial support to the project teams through efficient contract management, cost control, risk and opportunity identification, and forecasting, supporting the Program/Project Execution Plans.
You should have excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships within project teams and with the wider client organization.
• Work independently within established financial systems to monitor and review project costs and variances on small projects, controlling cost variables.
• Manage medium to large scale cost projects or significant components of cost management assignments, ensuring delivery within deadlines.
• Understand and comply with business risk policies, and communicate concerns to senior management.
• Provide advice on risk management principles to ensure adherence to organizational processes.
• Analyze data to identify trends, prepare documentation such as delivery plans, and support decision-making.
• Review and analyze existing cost and commercial management processes, sharing knowledge and contributing to service improvements.
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders, applying technical knowledge to ensure project delivery meets expectations.
• Offer technical advice and guidance in cost management, sharing knowledge to support colleagues and clients.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, resolve issues, and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Relevant professional qualification or chartered status with a recognized institution (e.g., RICS, CIPS, ICE, CIOB).
• Experience with the NEC suite of contracts.
• Experience in analysis and insights delivery.
• Self-management and prioritization skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including stakeholder influence.
• Ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
