Senior Commercial Manager / Senior Business Manager

Role Context:

Worley seeks a motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Senior Commercial Manager / Senior Business Manager to join a major Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCm) project. This role is based at our office in Brentford and offers a significant opportunity to be part of a landmark project in sustainability and energy transition.

You'll be:

  • Acting as the project team's focal point and expert on the prime contract, providing proactive advice on all contractual matters, supported by legal expertise where necessary.
  • Leading the change management process to identify and pursue all potential commercial entitlements early.
  • Collaborating with the Project Director to champion loss avoidance strategies and coordinate mitigation plans for potential claims and disputes.
  • Providing financial information and management to support Worley's forecasting and business planning, reviewing project performance, and developing strategies to maximize margins.
  • Training and supporting the project team to maintain full, contemporaneous records, including client approvals and notifications.
  • Ensuring timely issuance of contract notices in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • Maintaining and updating the risk register through proactive engagement, managing contingencies to protect margins.
  • Leading on commercial matters in internal and external reporting.

You'll have:

  • Proven experience in establishing prime contracts, project initiation, management, and closure.
  • Strong stakeholder management and contract negotiation skills.
  • Experience working within a Joint Venture environment is preferred.
  • Experience in UK project execution, including EPC phases.
  • A thorough understanding of project risks related to engineering and construction.
  • Ability to lead contractual negotiations confidently.
  • Experience in claim management and successful resolution.
  • Ability to assess contractual and commercial exposure related to project performance issues.
  • Knowledge of project and business financial reporting.
  • Deep understanding of project cost bases, gross margins, and profitability, preferably with experience under NEC/FIDIC contracts.
  • Educational background with a degree and preferably chartered status or equivalent experience.
