Job summary

Westlakes Recruit seeks an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join a leading nuclear defence and major infrastructure programme in Reading. You will own commercial strategy, governance, risk and contract delivery across high-value projects, working with senior leadership and supply chain partners in a hybrid office/home setup.

You will lead NEC3/NEC4 contract administration, manage tendering and commercial decisions, and mentor a high-performing team while safeguarding commercial interests

Qualifications

• Extensive senior commercial management experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and governance.
• Proven track record leading commercial delivery on high-value programmes.
• Experience in procurement strategy, risk management and commercial governance.
• Ability to mentor and develop commercial professionals within demanding projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior commercial leadership across major infrastructure and engineering projects.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with business objectives and growth.
• Oversee commercial delivery through full project lifecycle, including procurement and execution.
• Lead NEC3/NEC4 administration, governance and commercial control.
• Direct tendering activities, bid evaluations and key commercial decisions.
• Maintain oversight of cost management, budgeting and forecasting.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
• Provide strategic commercial advice to senior management and stakeholders.
• Lead and develop commercial teams and relationships with clients and supply chain.
• Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes and reporting.
