Job summary

Assystem is a leading nuclear engineering firm seeking a Commercial Manager in the United Kingdom. The role provides commercial leadership and governance within a highly regulated environment, collaborating with senior leadership, Project Managers, Finance, Procurement and delivery teams to drive strong commercial performance and contract management.

The successful candidate will oversee the commercial lifecycle, including project performance reviews, close-out activities, risk and opportunity

Qualifications

• Strong commercial and contract management experience within major projects or complex programmes.
• Experience managing multiple projects or contracts simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of NEC contracts.
• Demonstrable experience of contract administration, change control, claims, variations and commercial negotiations.
• Experience taking contracts and projects through commercial close-out and final account.
• Strong understanding of project financial management, including forecasting, EAC, cost control, cash flow and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial leadership and governance across projects and leadership teams.
• Lead monthly project reviews and provide clear performance insight.
• Manage contract close-out, final accounts and variations.
• Develop repeatable commercial approaches for project completion.
• Offer commercial support and assurance across programmes and teams.
• Administer NEC contracts and manage changes, claims and negotiations.
• Support procurement, supplier relationships and contract awards.
• Build strong relationships with clients, partners and internal stakeholders.
• Mentor and transfer knowledge to developing commercial professionals.
