Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Commercial Manager to provide commercial leadership across a major infrastructure project in the UK. You will be responsible for financial performance, commercial strategy and developing the wider commercial team.

You will lead the commercial team, manage procurement, forecasting, NEC contracts, and advise senior stakeholders while supporting governance and best practice across the business.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial management experience within infrastructure, civil engineering or major construction.
• Experience managing a commercial team.
• Strong subcontract and procurement experience.
• Excellent knowledge of commercial forecasting and reporting.
• Strong contract knowledge, ideally including NEC.
• Experience managing complex projects and significant work packages.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• A relevant degree/HNC/HND or equivalent commercial qualification.

Responsibilities

• Leading the commercial team across the project.
• Developing and implementing commercial strategy.
• Managing project financial performance.
• Leading forecasting, CVRs and cost-to-complete processes.
• Managing change, compensation events and variations.
• Overseeing subcontract procurement and commercial management.
• Managing commercial risk and opportunities.
• Providing commercial advice to senior project stakeholders.
• Supporting contract administration and negotiations.
• Managing commercial disputes and resolution strategies.
• Monitoring project performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Leading commercial reviews with senior management.
• Mentoring and developing Quantity Surveyors and Assistant QSs.
• Supporting the wider business with commercial governance and best practice.
