Job summary

We are recruiting a Commercial Insurance Sales Executive for Birmingham. The role focuses on winning new business, developing client relationships and growing an existing portfolio.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial insurance is required, with strong communication and negotiation skills. Salary ranges from £40,000 to £60,000 per year with a generous commission/bonus structure, and opportunities to further enhance earnings through performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the commercial insurance industry.
• Experience in commercial insurance account management, account executive or broking roles.
• Demonstrable experience developing client relationships and managing commercial insurance accounts.
• Experience generating new business and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive, commercially minded with a focus on achieving results.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a varied client portfolio.

Responsibilities

• New Business Development: identify, pursue and secure new commercial insurance business opportunities.
• Account Management: manage, retain and develop an existing portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
• Client Relationship Building: build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, insurers and stakeholders.
• Cross-Selling & Upselling: identify opportunities to introduce additional insurance products and expand existing client accounts.
• Renewals & Retention: oversee the renewal process, negotiate terms and maintain high retention.
• Insurance Advice: understand clients' businesses and insurance requirements to ensure appropriate cover.
• Insurer Negotiations: liaise with insurers to negotiate premiums and coverage.
• Business Growth: work towards sales, revenue and retention targets.
• Market Awareness: stay up to date with products, industry developments and opportunities.
