Senior Commercial Estimator - Interior Fit-Out

Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is partnering with a Reading-based contractor to recruit an Estimator / Commercial Manager. The role focuses on tendering and commercial delivery for interior fit-out projects in the UK.

Ideal candidates will have strong estimating experience, cost control and client liaison skills, with a track record in commercial interiors and refurbishment. Location: Reading area with UK travel.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating and commercial management.
• Background in commercial interiors, fit-out or refurbishment.
• Strong understanding of costs, tendering and project delivery.
• Excellent Excel skills and ability to take-off from drawings.
• Experience managing budgets and commercial performance.
• Strong negotiation and client-facing skills.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and project requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; MS Project beneficial.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and live projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prepare tenders, quotations and cost estimates for interior fit-out projects.
• Review drawings and tender docs to establish project costs.
• Carry out site surveys and measurements to support estimating.
• Prepare detailed estimates using Excel and measurement tools.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Support commercial negotiations and tender submissions.
• Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the lifecycle.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Ensure contractual obligations are understood and met.
• Travelling to client sites and projects across the UK as required.
