Job summary

Shufti is seeking a Commercial Legal Counsel to lead the Commercial & Corporate Legal pillar for a global RegTech business — owning commercial contracting, corporate governance and cross-border legal work. You will build the function and its playbooks from a lean base, partner closely with the Compliance and Privacy pillars, and grow into the senior leadership of the Legal, Compliance & Privacy department.

This is a build-and-own role for a commercially minded lawyer who wants scope, ownership

Qualifications

Qualified lawyer with strong commercial and corporate practice.
End-to-end drafting and negotiating NDAs, customer, vendor and DPAs.
Cross-border commercial experience across multiple jurisdictions.
Governance and company-secretarial experience across multiple entities.
GDPR/UK GDPR knowledge as it applies to commercial arrangements.
Strong stakeholder management with sales, product, compliance and leadership.
Ambition to build a function rather than inherit one.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end commercial contracting engine and templates.
Draft, review and negotiate cross-border commercial agreements.
Run governance across group entities with minutes and filings.
Support fundraising rounds and potential M&A activity with diligence-ready records.
Coordinate external counsel to manage scope and cost.
Collaborate with Privacy on DPAs and AI-regulatory changes.
