Job summary

SSQ is recruiting a Commercial Legal Counsel in London on a hybrid basis. The role targets a 2–4 PQE lawyer with private practice training, in-house or secondment experience. You will handle broad commercial matters across technology, SaaS, and regulatory areas while supporting a fast-growing fintech business.

You will work closely with stakeholders, draft and negotiate contracts, manage data protection issues and contribute to the development of the legal function as the business scales.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' PQE in commercial law or related field.
• Training from a recognised law firm.
• Experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and advise on commercial agreements including SaaS, technology and IT arrangements.
• Advise on data protection and regulatory matters as needed.
• Collaborate with compliance and risk teams across the business.
• Provide practical legal training and guidance to stakeholders.
