ABOUT THE ROLE

Working under the FP&A team, this hybrid role bridges data analytics and business expertise, requiring both strong technical capabilities and commercial acumen. You'll work extensively with large data sets to solve business problems, develop automated data tools, and provide key stakeholders with strategic insights that drive decision making.

You will collaborate closely with the data team while maintaining strong connections across various business units, serving as a crucial link between technical and commercial functions. Your dual expertise will be instrumental in driving revenue growth, optimizing profitability, and supporting key decision-making processes.

As a trusted adviser with both analytical and business skills, you'll translate complex data into actionable business intelligence, improving awareness of performance metrics and forward-looking strategies. Your technical capabilities with PostgreSQL and Power BI, combined with your business understanding, will enable you to develop self-sufficient tools and systems while operating at a fast pace.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Cross-functional Data Collaboration: Work as an integrated partner with the data team to develop dashboards and reports using PostgreSQL and Power BI that inform strategic business decisions.
Technical Process Improvement: Leverage your data expertise to identify opportunities for system enhancements and automation, streamlining business processes and driving efficiency.
Business-focused Analysis: Conduct detailed profitability reviews combining commercial understanding with advanced data analysis techniques.
Data Translation & Stakeholder Engagement: Translate complex technical data into business-relevant insights for senior management, guiding strategic planning and business cases.
Analytical Problem Solving: Apply both business acumen and data analytics skills to perform in-depth analysis and build models supporting critical business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed profitability reviews, working with project managers to identify and implement improvements.
Stakeholder Engagement: Present complex data in an accessible format to senior management, guiding strategic planning and business cases.

ABOUT YOU Essential Skills:

Minimum of 4-5 years experience in Commercial Analytics roles
Highly proficient in SQL (preferably PostgreSQL) with ability to work directly with data engineering teams
Strong Power BI experience with understanding of data architecture principles
Proven experience in data modeling and building analytical tools from scratch
A natural curiosity to learn and a 'can do' mentality with a strong preference to suggest solutions rather than just identify problems
Ability to produce and present high quality analysis to both technical and business stakeholders
Excellent with Microsoft and Google Suite – Excel, Word, Sheets, Docs, PowerPoint
Able to demonstrate initiative and work to tight deadlines
Results driven with high attention to detail
Experience collaborating with data science and engineering teams on business-critical projects
Strong commercial / business acumen to understand the business landscape, identify opportunities, and contribute to strategic planning
Excellent communication skills to effectively translate technical concepts to business stakeholders and vice versa
Proven stakeholder management skills across both technical and commercial teams
Adept problem-solving capabilities to tackle complex challenges requiring both business insight and data expertise

Desirable Skills:

Experience working in Private Equity, SaaS and B2B environments
Experience working in Consulting environments
NetSuite and Salesforce knowledge
Python automation skills
Experience in collaborative projects bridging data teams and business operations
Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA
