Job summary

Haskoning seeks a Senior Coastal Engineer to lead the coastal team in delivering design and assessment for coastal infrastructure. You will guide junior engineers, develop coastal design concepts and perform calculations from initial studies through to detailed designs.

The role emphasizes strong technical judgment, collaboration with maritime experts, and contribution to project management. Based in the UK, remote options may be available and flexible working is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience on civil engineering projects.
• Planning and design of coastal structures / beach nourishment / scour protection.
• UK right to work.
• Experience in directing/mentoring junior staff in technical matters.
• Sound engineering judgement and advice.
• Commercial and technical project management skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field; Chartered status encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support as required on coastal projects.
• Lead design of coastal structures from concept to detailed design.
• Prepare design calculations and review others' work.
• Produce CAD sketches and drawings; review prior to issue.
• Prepare design/technical reports and contract documents.
