Job summary

Haskoning is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to lead delivery of coastal and flood defence projects, from feasibility to construction support, across the UK and Europe. You will work within the Environment-Resilience-Renewables group, collaborating with climate resilience teams and other business lines.

The role requires strong communication, planning, and technical delivery skills, with experience in hydraulics, geotechnics, and 3D BIM workflows.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s (essential) and Master’s degree (desirable) in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Chartered or nearly Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng).
A minimum of 5 years’ experience of technical delivery of fluvial and/ or coastal flood defence schemes (or equivalent).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Integrity throughout all actions and promote sustainable approaches.
Develop successful river engineering and/or coastal projects.
Have a good understanding of hydraulics, geotechnics, structures and materials.
Implement projects using digital engineering/3D design and applying BIM.
Plan your own time, be organised and meet deadlines.
Work on own initiative and also as part of a team.
Lead design teams and coach junior staff in technical matters.
Prepare technical project reports including feasibility studies, option appraisal reports and business cases.
