Westray Recruitment Group are seeking a Senior CNC Router Operator to join our client in Leeds. You will join the day shift team and play an important role within the production operation.

This is a hands‑on position requiring strong CNC router experience, confident programming skills and the ability to set and operate machinery to produce high quality components. The role also offers an element of leadership responsibility, with the successful candidate expected to support the development of

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requiring strong CNC router experience and confident programming skills.
• Ability to read job packs and select materials, tooling and machining strategies.
• Lead and mentor apprentices and new CNC operators.
• Ensure high-quality components with adherence to standards and safety.
• Take ownership of own work and support production team.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC routers to produce high-quality components.
• Read job packs and select appropriate materials, tooling and strategies.
• Maintain workflow and monitor production progress to meet targets.
• KeepProduction Supervisor updated on progress and issues.
• Troubleshoot issues, support maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Ensure work adheres to standards and procedures.
• Provide training and mentoring to apprentices and new operators.
• Deliver on-the-job coaching and competency assessments.
• Assist with cross-training across the wider production team.
• Support operators with daily tasks and provide technical guidance.
• Contribute to efficient and productive workflow.
• Take technical ownership within area of responsibility.
