Job summary
Barkston Plastics Engineering Ltd in Leeds is seeking an experienced Senior CNC Router Operator for our day shift, offering technical ownership, leadership, and hands-on coaching of apprentices. You will program, set and run CNC routers, read job packs, select tooling and machining strategies, monitor progress and support maintenance to minimise downtime.

- Strong CNC router experience and confident programming skills.
- Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail.
- Clear communicator who enjoys developing others.
Responsibilities
- Program, set and operate CNC routers to produce components.
- Read job packs and select materials, tooling and machining strategies.
- Maintain workflow, monitor progress and update Production Supervisor.
- Troubleshoot issues and support maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Keep the work area clean, safe and compliant with all standards.
- Train and mentor apprentices and new CNC operators.
- Carry out on the job coaching and competency assessments.
- Support cross training and guide operators through daily tasks.
