Job summary

Key Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a CNC Operator in the East Midlands. The role involves setting up and operating CNC routing machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.

You will perform in-process quality checks, adjust tooling, maintain tools, and record production data while following safety protocols. This is a full-time, on-site role with 39 hours weekly, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and machine programming.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare CNC machines for production runs, including loading materials, tool selection, and programming machine parameters.
• Operate CNC machines to perform milling, turning, drilling, and grinding per drawings and specs.
• Conduct in-process quality checks to verify tolerances and quality.
• Maintain an organized tool inventory and replace worn tools as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Record production data, machine settings and quantities produced.
• Identify machining issues or tool wear to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with team to meet production schedules and address issues.
