Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Glasgow is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to create and plan CNC programs, optimize tooling, and support lean manufacturing initiatives. You will work with multi‑axis milling/turning equipment to produce precision bearings and related components for European markets.

You will analyse drawings, set up CNC programs, and liaise with Manufacturing Engineers and suppliers to improve safety, delivery, cost and quality, while driving continuous improvement through Kaizen

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in a precision engineering role.
• Proficient in CNC programming and MS Office; CAD/CAM knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Analyse drawings and design data to determine cuts, tools, speeds and feeds.
• Determine machine reference points and cutting paths directions.
• Create CNC programs and setup documents in line with routed operations.
• Revise programs to correct errors and omissions.
• Observe machine operation on trial runs to validate instructions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and suppliers on tooling/fixturing.
