Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Glasgow is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for creating and planning CNC programs to control contour path machining of metal parts on automatic machine tools. You will coordinate tooling and fixturing, develop standard programming guidelines, and support continuous improvement initiatives through Kaizen and Lean methods.

Ideal candidates bring at least 5 years of lean manufacturing experience and fluency in CNC programming, GibbsCam, CAM software, and

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a lean-manufacturing work environment.
Requires in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and Lean Manufacturing philosophies and tools.
Must be fluent in CNC programming and have strong skills in various Microsoft Office packages.
Experience with ERP and DNC software.
Experience and working knowledge of CNC Controls such as FANUC and CAM software GibbsCam.

Responsibilities

Create CNC Programs in line with routed operations using available software.
Coordinate required tooling and fixturing for CNC machining.
Develop and maintain standard programming guidelines for processes and program creation.
Observe machine operation on trial runs to verify programmed instructions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen activities.
