Job summary

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions seeks an experienced CNC Miller and Programmer to join a precision engineering manufacturer in Nottingham. You will program, set and operate CNC milling machines on rotating morning/afternoon shifts to produce high-precision components.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to process improvements. CAD/CAM software experience and familiarity with Haas/Hurco/Mazak/Fanuc/Matsuura controls are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach.
• Good problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and machine controls (Haas, Hurco, Mazak, Fanuc or Matsuura) would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC milling machines.
• Create, edit and optimize CNC programmes to improve machining efficiency.
• Manufacture one off and batch components from engineering drawings.
• Select the correct tooling, fixtures and workholding for each job.
• Carry out tool changes and make machine offsets where required.
• Inspect finished components using measuring equipment.
• Complete first off inspections and ensure components meet quality standards.
• Identify process improvements to reduce cycle times and increase productivity.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.
