Job summary

Safran Landing Systems in the UK seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimise CNC machining processes for MillTurn, 5-axis machining and turning, delivering high quality aerospace components.

You will drive process development, industrialisation, and continuous improvement, provide technical support, and collaborate with Production, Quality and Engineering to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• CNC programming for MillTurn, 5-axis and turning.
• CAD/CAM with CATIA, HyperMILL and Vericut.
• Strong machining, tooling and process development knowledge.
• Experience solving complex manufacturing challenges.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings and tolerancing.
• A continuous improvement mindset.
• Engineering qualifications or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise CNC programs for MillTurn, 5-axis machining, and turning.
• Support machining process development, tooling, and process improvements.
• Prove out and troubleshoot CNC programs on the shop floor.
• Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
• Drive improvements in quality, productivity, cost, and delivery.
• Support new product introduction and industrialisation activities.
• Create and validate CAD/CAM programs using CATIA, HyperMILL, and Vericut.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to colleagues.
• Maintain engineering documentation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
