Job summary

Safran Landing Systems in the UK is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead CNC machining development for MillTurn, 5-axis and turning of complex aerospace components. You will drive process development, industrialisation, continuous improvement and technical shop-floor support to deliver products to the highest quality standards.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimise manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise CNC programs for MillTurn, 5-axis machining and turning.
  • Support machining process development, tooling and improvements.
  • Prove out and troubleshoot CNC programs on the shop floor.
  • Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive improvements in quality, productivity, cost and delivery.
  • Support new product introduction and industrialisation activities.

Role Overview

Join Safran Landing Systems as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer and play a key role in developing and optimising CNC machining processes for complex aerospace components. With a focus on MillTurn, 5-axis machining, and turning, you'll drive manufacturing excellence through process development, industrialisation, continuous improvement, and technical support, helping deliver world-class products to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimise CNC programs for MillTurn, 5-axis machining, and turning.
  • Support machining process development, tooling, and process improvements.
  • Prove out and troubleshoot CNC programs on the shop floor.
  • Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.

What You'll Bring:
  • CNC programming expertise in MillTurn, 5-axis machining, and turning.
  • CAD/CAM experience with CATIA, HyperMILL, and Vericut.
  • Strong machining, tooling, and process development knowledge.
  • Experience solving complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and tolerancing.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
  • Engineering qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
