Job summary

Gerrell & Hard in Abingdon is seeking an experienced Metrologist/CMM Programmer to drive precision inspection from prototype to final QC, using the latest metrology equipment in a fast-paced engineering environment.

You will program and operate CMMs (Hexagon/PC-DMIS, Renishaw Agility/MODUS), develop inspection processes, support product development, and maintain calibration records while collaborating across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' CMM programming experience.
• Experience with PC-DMIS and/or MODUS.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMM equipment (Hexagon/PC-DMIS and Renishaw Agility/MODUS)
• Develop and improve CMM inspection processes
• Support engineering teams throughout product development
• Manage calibration activities and maintain accurate inspection records
• Share knowledge and drive continuous improvement within the metrology team
