Job summary

Orion Electrotech Manufacturing in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to develop, validate and maintain inspection programs for complex components.

You will interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, program with PC-DMIS/MODUS/Calypso, perform first-off and in-process checks, and collaborate with production and engineering to drive quality improvements.

The role is permanent, dayshift, with focus on precision and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CMM Programmer within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience programming CMMs using PC-DMIS, MODUS, Calypso, or similar.
• Strong understanding of metrology principles and inspection techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Knowledge of CAD models and inspection planning would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimise CMM inspection programs using industry-standard software.
• Develop programs from engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
• Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections on components and assemblies.
• Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality requirements.
• Analysing measurement data and generating detailed inspection reports.
• Supporting root cause investigations and reporting non-conformances.
• Collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve quality and inspection processes.
