Job summary

Cranleigh Scientific is recruiting a CMM Programmer to join an Abingdon-based, on-site metrology team developing high-precision metal components.

You will program CMMs using PC-DMIS/MODUS on Hexagon/Renishaw systems, interpret GD&T, and drive continuous improvement across measurement methods in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

The role offers hands-on project work, collaboration with engineering and operations, and the chance to own programming and inspection processes.

Qualifications

• Experience programming CMMs and interpreting complex GD&T.
• Background in metrology within high-precision manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Hands-on experience with Hexagon or Renishaw metrology equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, program and operate CMM equipment using PC-DMIS and MODUS.
• Develop and improve CMM inspection methods for accuracy and efficiency.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T to define measurement strategies.
• Review drawings for measurability and provide feedback to engineering teams.
• Support projects with dimensional inspection throughout development and manufacturing.
• Maintain inspection records and ensure traceability.
• Assist calibration and control of inspection equipment.
