Job summary

Cohere is seeking a Senior Security Operations Engineer to advance security across cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines. You will work with teams to design secure architectures, automate controls, and manage access to systems at scale.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, strong collaboration, and rapid incident response. Cohere supports a remote-friendly, globally distributed team with London offices and flexible work options.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SecOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Security, or Threat Detection with security tooling focus.
• Hands-on security engineer focused on automating controls.
• Experience managing cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI) and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD (Git, Terraform) in cloud environments.
• Experience with infra automation, network segmentation, and security observability.
• Experience with Golang and/or Python.
• Able to make decisions with limited data and navigate ambiguity.
• Able to balance build vs. buy and review available tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to leadership and partner teams on security risks.
• Harden cloud environments with secure-by-default designs for networks, tooling, and processes.
• Own and drive secure infra design using infrastructure-as-code and reusable libraries.
• Manage IAM/RBAC across cloud infra and streamline authentication/authorization.
• Deploy and operationalize security services (SIEM, SOAR, monitoring).
• Respond to incidents and harden environments post-incident.
• Support monitoring/compliance initiatives and risk remediation.
• Gather and analyze security metrics for cross-team insights.
• Be a problem solver with empathy for developers and pragmatic solutions.
