Thought Machine is hiring Senior Software Engineers for Infrastructure to deploy and maintain cloud-native platform infrastructure. You will work on multi-cloud orchestration, observability, and data layers to reduce cognitive load for developers and clients at scale.

The role focuses on building resilient, scalable tooling with Python or Golang and integrating Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana across the stack. Hybrid London-based works environment offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field.
• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and scaling infrastructure platforms.
• Strong proficiency with Python or Golang for production tooling.
• Deep understanding of container orchestration and internals (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Hands-on experience extending open-source tools like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana.
• Proven ability to package and scale developer-facing infrastructure utilities for reliability.

Responsibilities

• Scale the Core Platform: evolve and optimise cloud-agnostic platform infrastructure.
• Simplify orchestration: build intuitive control planes and automation.
• Design for resiliency: architect robust DR/BCP systems.
• Advance observability: enhance end-to-end monitoring and insights.
• Optimise data & streaming: scale databases and event streams for peak performance.
