Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join Cloud Foundational Services in the UK.

You will apply deep infrastructure expertise across AWS core services, automation, and AI-assisted tooling to drive scalable solutions and improvements, while supporting a distributed, follow-the-sun on-call model across time zones. In this role you will collaborate with product teams to modernize infrastructure, ensure security and resiliency, and lead cross-functional projects that deliver

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
• Deep knowledge of infrastructure engineering areas such as hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment, automation, scalability, resilience, or performance assessments.
• Experience supporting and operating workloads in AWS with core services (compute, storage, networking, monitoring, databases).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) and cloud platform certifications.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment with ability to evaluate AI outputs.
• Understanding of secure handling of data and compliance in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope.
• Drive a workstream or project consisting of infrastructure engineering technologies.
• Collaborate with other platforms to architect and implement changes to resolve issues and modernize processes.
• Deliver design, development, and troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity.
• Consider data/system implications and advise on mitigation actions.
• Leverage AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity with peer review and secure coding.
