Job summary

Bitstamp Exchange Platform in London is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to drive our modernization strategy. You will help build high-availability, low-latency cloud infrastructure and lead the transition to containerized services.

This role requires in-person collaboration at least 3 days per week in our London office and participation in on-call rotations to keep the platform reliable and scalable.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of cloud engineering experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong background in modernizing legacy architectures and building low-latency cloud infra.
• Extensive experience with AWS services such as ECS, EC2, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
• Proven ability to own projects end-to-end and coordinate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Build high-availability, low-latency cloud infrastructure with portability across ecosystems.
• Lead the transition to modern, containerized services and optimized deployment workflows.
• Integrate Bitstamp backend with Robinhood’s global infrastructure.
• Evolve the tech stack to reduce operational toil through automation.
• Own complex projects from design to deployment with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate across teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain 24/7 platform reliability.
