Longshot Systems Ltd is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team that owns and develops our trading platform. You will architect and implement features to meet performance, stability, and product goals while upholding technical standards, CI/CD, observability and security.

Our Golang-centric stack handles high-throughput, low-latency data with multiple trading venues and global data feeds. The role is based in London with hybrid working, and flexible hours to meet project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a quantitative or technical subject from a top university.
• Experience building mission-critical distributed systems with high throughput and availability.
• Startup experience shipping products in small, fast-moving teams.
• Production systems experience in at least one systems language (Go, C++, Rust, Java, C#, etc.).
• Ability to reason about trade-offs and create clean, evolvable service boundaries.
• Cloud & DevOps experience in AWS and Linux; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Join the team that owns and develops the trading platform.
• Architect and implement features to meet product, performance, or stability goals.
• Own technical standards, CI/CD, observability, and security for the platform.
• Integrate more trading venues and optimise key parts of the platform.
• Contribute to wider technical excellence in the team and platform.
