Job summary

Entrust in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, implement and maintain AWS-based infrastructure supporting microservices. You will work with EKS, Kubernetes, IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu), Istio and CI/CD pipelines, while monitoring with Splunk and Datadog. Strong scripting in Bash/Python and collaboration skills are essential.

This role involves day-2 operations, cost optimization, and will be based in Cambridge with a focus on scalable, secure cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT infrastructure with 3+ years in AWS.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS EKS.
• Experience with EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu (IaC).
• Hands-on with EKS clusters and Istio service mesh.
• CI/CD with Jenkins or similar.
• Scripting in Bash and Python for automation.
• Strong communication and collaboration.
• Experience with day-2 operations (backup, upgrades, cost optimization).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Manage microservices on Kubernetes using AWS EKS.
• Implement IaC with Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Configure monitoring/logging with Splunk and Datadog.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar).
• Optimize costs and perform day-2 operations.
