Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned DevOps Lead in the UK to drive complex software projects using AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, and robust CI/CD practices. You will mentor engineers, shape infrastructure, and align technology with business goals across teams.

Applicants should have strong Python scripting, Terraform or CloudFormation experience, and a proven ability to deliver reliable, scalable systems in dynamic environments. Redhill-based hybrid work is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience.
Strong programming/development experience.
Considerable experience as a DevOps Engineer.
Strong proficiency in AWS cloud technologies (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, SNS, SQS).
Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Amazon EKS.
Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to commute to the Redhill office three days per week.

Responsibilities

Lead complex software engineering projects spanning emerging technologies.
Identify opportunities to use technology to improve business efficiency and capabilities.
Collaborate with engineers while providing technical guidance and mentorship.
Oversee complex analysis, design, debugging, configuration, and development.
Research and apply current industry trends and techniques to solve software engineering problems.
Advocate for technology improvements and better business outcomes.
Lead high-visibility business initiatives and shape project scope.
Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure solutions.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
Monitor system performance and reliability, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define infrastructure requirements and implement best practices.
Stay current with cloud computing and DevOps trends, technologies, and practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
