Job summary

Suffolk GP Federation seeks a Senior Clinical Systems Support Officer to provide expert support for clinical systems across the Federation and partner organisations. You will design and deliver digital training, lead system migrations and drive business change initiatives to improve workflows and safety in primary care.

The role requires strong knowledge of SystmOne, EMIS Web and related tools, plus experience in analytics, governance and multi-stakeholder collaboration in a not-for-profit

Qualifications

  • Degree-level education or equivalent extensive SystmOne knowledge and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GP primary care workflows and multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Experience with data quality, reporting and analytics (Excel, Power BI, SQL).

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist support for clinical systems (SystmOne, EMIS Web, AccuRx/DXS) within SLAs.
  • Design, deliver and evaluate training and knowledge resources for clinical systems.
  • Lead migrations, releases, upgrades and business change activities.
  • Collaborate with clinical/operational/technical teams to improve workflows and service delivery.
  • Assess and manage governance and patient safety risks with system changes.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Clinical Systems Support Officer to provide expert clinical systems support, digital training and business change services across the Federation and our partner organisations.

What is the role?
  • Provide specialist support for clinical systems, including TPP SystmOne, EMIS Web and AccuRx/DXS, resolving incidents, service requests and problems within agreed service levels.
  • Design, deliver and evaluate training, guidance and knowledge resources that help colleagues use clinical systems safely, effectively and confidently.
  • Lead or coordinate system migrations, releases, upgrades and business change activities, supporting digital transformation, integration and interoperability programmes.
  • Work with clinical, operational and technical stakeholders to improve workflows, system configuration and service delivery.
  • Assess and manage clinical, operational, information governance and patient safety risks associated with system changes, while maintaining accurate records of decisions, changes and risks.
You’ll join our Digital & IT team.

We are a not-for-profit, community interest company and our main purpose is to support Primary Care across Suffolk, including support with working collaboratively and at scale. We also deliver a portfolio of NHS services across Suffolk and North East Essex, including Podiatry, Ultrasound, Diabetes, and Urgent Care Services including the Out of Hours face-to-face Service in Suffolk.

  • You will bring high-level technical expertise in TPP SystmOne development and extensive specialist knowledge of clinical systems, digital health or health informatics.
  • You will understand clinical workflows across primary care, GP practices, community and mental health services, and be confident working in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • You will have strong knowledge of data quality, reporting and analytics, with competence in tools such as advanced Excel, Power BI and basic SQL.
  • You will understand data protection, information governance, information security, cyber risks, and clinical safety in digital health projects.
  • You will be collaborative, resilient and proactive, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing projects, deadlines and priorities.
  • A degree-level education is required, or equivalent extensive and in-depth specialist SystmOne knowledge, development, support and experience.
