Job description

Senior Clinical Pharmacist Mental Health Access and Living Well

We have an excellent opportunity for a senior mental health pharmacist to join our Living Well & Access Teams in Stockport. You will work with the Living Well & Access Team as a prescriber and be responsible for developing the clinical pharmacy service and medication-related pathways within your borough. This role involves no dispensary or out-of-hours commitments, providing an ideal opportunity to develop your clinical skills and broaden your mental health knowledge and experience.

Main duties of the job
  1. Provide, manage, organise, and develop the clinical pharmacy service for the Living Well and Access Teams across your borough.
  2. Lead, deliver, develop, and evaluate specialist clinical mental health pharmacy services within the Living Well Team.
  3. Offer expert pharmaceutical advice and liaise with the Living Well Team, GPs, practice pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, patients, and carers.
  4. Lead the non-medical prescribing pathway and act as an independent prescriber, ensuring drug therapy is evidence-based, safe, cost-effective, and suitable for the patient.
  5. Provide training to the Living Well Team, GPs, and other HCPs in primary care regarding the use of psychotropic medicines.
  6. Ensure pharmacy services operate within guidelines to promote effective medicines management.
  7. Provide cover for other pharmacists within Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust as needed.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary Living Well & Access Team in your borough, supported by a dedicated clinical pharmacy team committed to delivering excellent services across community, assessment, specialist, and inpatient settings. You will receive clinical and management supervision and have opportunities for professional development through education, training, team meetings, quality improvement, and audits. Support for further qualifications is available. The role is strictly clinical, with no dispensary, out-of-hours, or on-call duties.

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacy Practice) or equivalent experience

  • CMHP credentialed
