Job Opportunity: Senior Mental Health Pharmacist

We have an excellent opportunity for a senior mental health pharmacist to join our Living Well & Access Teams in Stockport. You will work as a prescriber within the Living Well & Access Team and be responsible for developing the clinical pharmacy service and medication-related pathways within your borough. This role offers no dispensary or out-of-hours commitments, providing an ideal environment to develop your clinical skills and expand your mental health knowledge and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide, manage, organise, and develop the clinical pharmacy service to the Living Well and Access Teams across your borough.
  2. Lead, deliver, develop, and evaluate specialist clinical mental health pharmacy services in the Living Well Team.
  3. Offer expert pharmaceutical advice and liaise with the Living Well Team, GPs, practice pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, patients, and carers.
  4. Lead the non-medical prescribing pathway and act as an independent prescriber, ensuring drug therapy is evidence-based, safe, cost-effective, and appropriate for individual patients.
  5. Provide training to the Living Well Team, GPs, and other HCPs within Primary Care on the use of psychotropic medicines.
  6. Ensure pharmacy services operate within established guidelines to promote effective medicines management.
  7. Provide cover for other pharmacists employed by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust as needed.

You will work within a multidisciplinary Living Well & Access Team in your borough, supported by a dedicated clinical pharmacy team committed to delivering excellent services across community, assessment, specialist, and inpatient services. The role includes clinical and management supervision, with opportunities for professional development through education, training, team meetings, Quality Improvement, and audits. Support for further qualifications is also available. This position is entirely clinical, with no dispensary, out-of-hours, or on-call commitments.
