The post holders will be part of the wider clinical pharmacy team providing pharmacy services to patients across all disease groups but will work predominantly within the designated oncology disease group supervising Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies for oncology patients
The post holder will be accountable for the delivery of specialist clinical pharmacy services, supporting the cancer disease group in conjunction with other specialist pharmacists within the group, and have an active role in prescribing in the outpatient clinic setting. As such the postholder must ideally possess an independent prescribing qualification or at least be working towards this qualification. We have numerous pharmacists integrated into the outpatient clinic setting working in collaboration with the MDT, including several pharmacist led SACT clinics. We are keen to expand this model depending on service and disease group requirements. The postholder will have an integral role within the MDT team and contribute to service delivery, new initiatives and development / review of drug protocols including new NICE approved SACT within the disease group.
The Pharmacy Department actively supports several collaborative projects alongside several research partners and has strong links with the University of Manchester. Several members of our staff have undertaken post graduate training, research and other secondment opportunities and we are keen to support further opportunities.
