You will contribute to strategic planning, workforce development and governance while maintaining expert practice in cardiopulmonary bypass and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years working within the NHS at a senior managerial or clinical level.
• Minimum 10 years Clinical Perfusion experience.
• Experience in staff development and performance management.
• Expert knowledge of highly specialised clinical perfusion and cardiac surgical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership for the Clinical Perfusion Service across the Trust and referring region.
• Lead perfusion care for complex procedures and advanced circulatory support therapies.
• Act as senior clinical perfusion specialist, advising multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and review clinical policies, protocols and evidence-based practice.
• Ensure safe operation and availability of perfusion equipment and resources.
• Participate in 24-hour on-call rota and maintain clinical role in routine and emergency services.
• Lead governance, audit, quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
• Manage budgets, procurement and resource utilisation according to Trust policies.
• Lead research, innovation and service development to improve patient outcomes.
