Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts is seeking a Chief Perfusionist to lead the Perfusion Department, oversee service delivery, governance, and educational development within a major cardiac surgery unit in the East Midlands.

The post holder will balance clinical expert practice with strategic leadership, take responsibility for CPB procedures in adults, on-call rotas, budget and workforce planning, and drive quality improvement and patient safety across the service.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior clinical, professional, and operational leadership for the Perfusion Service.
• Lead strategic planning, budget management, and service transformation.
• Develop policies, protocols, and advanced practice in perfusion.
• Oversee governance, quality and risk across the service.
• Lead education, training and staff development for perfusion team.
