This 12 month post starting in Autumn 2024 provides an exciting opportunity to gain experience in the management of Level 3 Haematology in a Centre delivering stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapies. The transplant unit has a growing ambulatory service. This post is to cover one of our existing Haematology higher specialist trainees who is taking a 12 months out of programme. The Unit also houses a regional Haemoglobinopathy service and a Comprehensive Care Haemophilia Centre.
The post holder will work within the adult haematology team based in the Bristol Haematology Unit. They will rotate in 4 month blocks starting in the laboratory, then Bone Marrow Transplant, followed by Acute Haematology (Ward / Day Unit). The Bristol Haematology Unit is based in the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Building which comprises a 24 bedded Haematology in-patient unit and combined Haematology and Oncology Same Day emergency Care Unit (SDEC). There is an expectation that the successful candidate will be part of the weekend second on rota covering daytime hours alongside a consultant, junior staff and a Haematology trainee.
