Job summary

ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation uniting people to bring new medicines to patients faster. As a Principal Clinical Data Science Lead, you will guide advanced data science applications in clinical research and development and oversee delivery across programs.

You will lead a team of data scientists, collaborate with biostatistics, regulatory, and clinical teams, and drive innovation in ML and analytics to improve trial design and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, computer science, or a related discipline
• Extensive experience applying data science to clinical research and development
• Proven leadership with teams of data scientists in a clinical/biopharma setting
• Expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and ML techniques; proficient in software
• Excellent communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of advanced data science methodologies and statistical models for clinical research
• Guide a team of data scientists and analysts in developing data-driven strategies for trial design and outcomes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science insights into development programs
• Drive innovation in data science tools and predictive analytics for trial efficiency
• Provide strategic direction for data management and analysis; ensure regulatory compliance
• Communicate complex findings to senior leadership and external partners
