Job summary

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Coding Manager to lead and develop the coding team, ensuring accurate data supporting commissioning and income. The role requires strong communication with clinicians and managers and a drive to improve systems and processes within the Trust.

You will manage workloads, mentor staff, and implement improvements through collaboration with clinical teams, ensuring high standards and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in clinical coding within NHS or equivalent health system.
• Strong leadership and line-management skills.
• Ability to analyse complex coding data to support income and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of clinical coding within the Trust’s deadlines.
• Innovate in coding methodologies and pursue automation where possible.
• Lead and supervise the clinical coding team, managing workloads and performance.
• Communicate coding rules clearly to clinicians and admin staff across the Trust.
• Develop relationships with consultants and directorates to ensure coding quality.
