Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an Accredited Clinical Coding Auditor to lead the coding team, drive quality improvements, and contribute to the Trust’s digital and agile transition. The role combines day-to-day operations with strategic development of the Clinical Coding service.

You will mentor trainees, oversee internal audits, and collaborate with lead clinicians to ensure timely, standardized data and strong performance against KPIs.

• Strong leadership, communication and quality improvement skills.
• Act as a role model for excellence and strategic development.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform internal coding audits, identifying variances against benchmarks using CHKS.
• Participate in external exchange audits with other NHS Trusts.
• Mentor trainee coders within the department’s quality framework.
• Monitor agreed key performance and quality indicators and support areas of underachievement.
• Support Head of Clinical Coding in developing and managing strategic plans for the department.
