Job summary

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a clinical coder to ensure accurate abstraction of clinical data and correct translation into ICD-10 and OPCS-4 codes for statistical analysis and national frameworks.

You will work independently and as part of a team, upholding confidentiality and providing high quality coded data to support Payment by Results and related workflows.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 coding systems.
• Strong data quality and accuracy in coding.
• Ability to communicate with clinicians and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate clinical coding to support national coding standards.
• Abstract clinical information from health records and code it precisely.
• Lead by example to motivate team members in coding accuracy.
