Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Coding Officer to extract and code complex medical records using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 in a fast-paced hospital environment. The role includes analysis, data entry and ensuring timely submission to support timely payments and patient care data.

Applicants with ACC qualification are preferred, with a trainee pathway available and comprehensive in-house training to develop coding expertise and meet departmental standards.

Qualifications

• ACC qualified Clinical Coder preferred;e trainee route considered
• Excellent IT and communication skills required
• Experience in an acute hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Extract, analyse, translate and enter complex medical records into ICD-10/OPCS-4 codes
• Ensure coding is accurate and timely to meet deadlines
• Attend required training and stay updated with coding changes
• Complete all coding by the 2nd working day of each month for prior month
